Pastor Tessie LaLonde (School Administrator)
Mrs. LaLonde is Victory Christian Academy’s current administrator. She attended North Shore Teachers Training College in Auckland, New Zealand, and continued her training at Moorhead State College. She received her license preach in 1992 with ordination following in 1994.
What part of being the administrator do you enjoy most? I am enjoying being stretched and shaped into new areas of personal growth. I feel God has called me to be here at VCA and I am expecting Him to guide, direct and equip me to meet all the various responsibilities of being the principal. I have enjoyed meeting VCA’s family of parents and their kids as well as getting to know your awesome crew of teachers.
What do you like most about Victory Christian Academy? The most exciting thing about Victory Christian Academy is the word CHRISTIAN. The staff prays together every single day for their students for each other for the parents and for the school as a whole. Our students are held to a Christian standard: not just “good citizens,” but “godly citizens.” Christianity permeates everything we do at VCA. It is blended into each subject taught, each activity participated in, and each relationship developed. From the staff, students, board, and building – we are a CHRISTIAN school.
If you could share one piece of advice, what would it be? Years ago, when I was a struggling young Children’s Pastor, I heard a preacher say, “God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called.” That has stayed with me through many years and trials. It is with me today as I strive to lead VCA. I tell myself not to be afraid to step out and do what God is calling me to do. He still equips the called, and He is with us—as staff, as students, as parents, and as a board—to fulfill the mission of VCA.
